Overview
We are seeking an experienced .NET Developer for a 6-month contract focused on modernizing legacy applications and services. The contractor will collaborate with a team to develop and maintain applications using C# and the .NET Framework, working primarily on-site in Glasgow. This role emphasizes the importance of working with WebAPI/REST APIs and SQL Server, and it requires candidates who can deliver solutions with a focus on CI/CD practices.
Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain applications using C# and the .NET Framework.
- Implement WebAPI and REST APIs to enhance application functionality.
- Utilize SQL Server for database management and data retrieval.
- Collaborate with team members on application design and architecture.
- Participate in CI/CD processes to ensure smooth deployment of applications.
- Modernize legacy applications and services to improve performance and usability.
- (You may also have the opportunity to work with WPF and Docker for future projects.)
Requirements
- Proven experience as a .NET Developer with strong skills in C#.
- Proficiency in the .NET Framework and associated technologies.
- Experience in developing and consuming WebAPI and REST APIs.
- Familiarity with SQL Server for managing databases.
- Knowledge of CI/CD practices for efficient software delivery.
- Experience with modernizing legacy applications is highly desirable.
- Familiarity with WPF/MVVM and containerization (Docker) is a plus.
