Overview
This contract position seeks a DV Cleared Network Security Architect to create and oversee secure network architectures in highly regulated Data Centre and Telecommunications environments. The contractor will be responsible for developing both high-level and low-level designs, ensuring compliance with security standards, and collaborating closely with various stakeholders to implement robust network solutions. The role requires a significant level of expertise in network security, as well as hands-on leadership capabilities.
Responsibilities
- Lead end-to-end network security architecture across Data Centre and telecommunications estates.
- Produce and own high-level and low-level designs, as-built documentation, and security patterns.
- Define and implement security controls for network segmentation, perimeter security, and encryption.
- Collaborate with service owners, engineering teams, and third parties to ensure compliant and deliverable designs.
- Support technical assurance, risk management, and participate in design reviews and governance forums.
- Maintain thorough documentation, including design justifications and operational handovers.
Requirements
- Proven experience as a Network Security Architect in enterprise Data Centre and telecommunications environments.
- Strong design background in routing, switching, and resilient architectures.
- Expertise in firewall architecture and multi-tier policy design.
- Excellent documentation skills with the ability to create HLD/LLD and operational handover documentation.
- Comfortable working within secure and regulated environments, with strong stakeholder management skills.
- Experience with secure connectivity concepts, including WAN/MPLS/SD-WAN.
