Overview
We are seeking an experienced Electrical Supervisor for a 3-month contract focused on a major HVDC project in Norwich. The successful candidate will work closely with site teams on a live HVDC converter station/substation, ensuring that electrical installations are carried out safely and to high-quality standards. This role offers the chance to contribute significantly to the UK's transmission infrastructure program.
Responsibilities
- Provide day-to-day electrical supervision across the HVDC site.
- Supervise electrical installation, testing, and commissioning activities on HV/HVDC plant and equipment.
- Manage and coordinate site electrical labor, including direct workforce and subcontractors.
- Ensure compliance with client safety rules, RAMS, and relevant electrical safety regulations.
- Liaise with Project Manager and Site Manager regarding project progress and technical issues.
- Conduct site inspections, toolbox talks, and safety briefings.
- Monitor and enforce compliance with permit-to-work systems and safe isolation procedures.
- Maintain accurate site records, including daily reports and inspection documentation.
Requirements
- Proven track record as an Electrical Supervisor on HV/HVDC or major power transmission projects.
- SSSTS (Site Supervisor Safety Training Scheme) certification.
- Valid CSCS Card.
- First Aid at Work certification.
- Strong knowledge of HV electrical installation, testing, and commissioning processes.
- Solid understanding of site safety rules, permit-to-work systems, and safe isolation procedures.
- Ability to effectively manage site labor and subcontractors.
- Must operate via a Limited Company for the duration of the contract (Outside IR35).
