Overview
We are seeking an experienced Embedded Software Engineer to support cutting-edge development in electrical power systems and power electronics. This specialist role involves working within a skilled engineering team to enhance and implement functionality for advanced protection relay products used in electrical transmission and distribution networks. The position offers opportunities for collaboration and innovation in embedded software development, with occasional visits to the Oxford office.
Responsibilities
- Develop embedded software for protection relay products that monitor, protect, and control electrical power systems.
- Implement new protection features and enhance existing functionality.
- Support testing activities to ensure software quality and reliability.
- Collaborate with engineering team members to improve system efficiency and performance.
Requirements
- Strong experience in embedded software development using C and C++.
- Solid understanding of AC power systems, including transmission and distribution networks.
- Experience developing products or systems used in electrical substations or power protection environments.
- Ability to implement power protection algorithms within embedded software.
- Familiarity with IEC 61850 or similar power system communication protocols.
