Overview
We are seeking a skilled Facilities Project Manager for a 6-month fixed-term contract to oversee the relocation of an electronic engineering and manufacturing operation. The successful candidate will take charge of planning, coordinating, and executing the end-to-end relocation program, working closely with diverse stakeholders to ensure a smooth transition while maintaining business continuity. This role requires regular travel between Newport and Ryde, Isle of Wight, with a clear focus on managing multiple aspects of the project from equipment relocation to compliance with health and safety regulations.
Responsibilities
- Lead the full lifecycle of the facility relocation project from initiation to completion.
- Develop and manage detailed project plans, schedules, budgets, and risk registers.
- Coordinate the relocation of manufacturing equipment, engineering assets, and IT infrastructure.
- Ensure minimal disruption to ongoing business operations during the transition.
- Monitor project progress and implement corrective actions as necessary.
- Provide regular updates and facilitate communication between all project stakeholders.
- Procure and manage external contractors and specialist suppliers.
- Ensure compliance with UK Health & Safety legislation and CDM Regulations throughout the project.
Requirements
- Proven experience in delivering manufacturing, engineering or industrial facility relocation projects.
- Strong Project Management Office (PMO) experience with structured governance and controls.
- Demonstrable knowledge of mechanical and electrical systems in industrial settings.
- Experience managing complex contractor networks and supply chains.
- In-depth understanding of UK Health & Safety legislation and CDM Regulations.
- Ability to manage multiple workstreams within tight deadlines.
- Professional Project Management qualification such as PRINCE2, PMP, or APM is preferred.
- NEBOSH or equivalent Health & Safety qualification is desirable.
