Overview
The Field Engineer (Telecoms) will play a crucial role in supporting a telecommunications programme across Scotland. This position focuses on the installation, commissioning, and maintenance of telecoms infrastructure while ensuring network assurance and troubleshooting. The engineer will collaborate with various teams to deliver excellent service and operational efficiency in a dynamic project environment.
Responsibilities
- Install and commission telecoms equipment.
- Conduct network assurance and maintenance activities.
- Troubleshoot issues with IP and telecoms infrastructure.
- Provide support for routing, switching, and data networking.
- Assist with LAN, WAN, and MPLS operations.
- Support 24/7 first-line assurance activities.
- Complete project documentation and perform site surveys.
Requirements
- Full UK Driving Licence.
- Ability to travel across Scotland.
- Immediate availability preferred.
- Experience with SDH / PDH microwave radio technology.
- Familiarity with Commtel XTran systems.
- Proficient in Cisco and Alcatel equipment.
- Knowledge of LAN, WAN, and MPLS technologies.
- Experience with DC & AC power systems and telecom installation.
