Overview
We are seeking an experienced Financial Controller to support the Finance Director in enhancing a scalable finance function for a high-growth, investor-backed business in the data centre infrastructure sector. This interim position involves a broad range of leadership responsibilities, including financial control, reporting, governance, and process improvement, all crucial for the company's continued expansion. The successful candidate will work closely with senior management, directly impacting financial operations and supporting strategic decision-making.
Responsibilities
- Lead month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close processes.
- Oversee management accounts, statutory reporting, and financial reporting outputs.
- Ensure the integrity and accuracy of financial records and accounting processes.
- Design and enhance financial controls, governance frameworks, and policies.
- Review balance sheet reconciliations and maintain strong control discipline.
- Support cashflow forecasting, liquidity management, and working capital performance.
- Partner with operational and procurement teams to strengthen financial governance.
- Manage external audit processes and coordinate relationships with advisers.
Requirements
- Fully qualified accountant (ACA preferred, ACCA or CIMA considered).
- Significant experience as a Financial Controller, Head of Finance, or Senior Finance Manager.
- Strong technical accounting, financial reporting, and controls background.
- Experience in a growing, changing, or investor-backed environment.
- Proven track record of improving controls, governance, and reporting processes.
- Strong stakeholder management and business partnering capability.
- Comfortable operating strategically while remaining hands-on when required.
- Experience in leading and developing finance teams.
