Overview
We are seeking a qualified and experienced Financial Controller to oversee the finance function at a rapidly growing private equity-backed law firm. In this pivotal role, you will report directly to the CFO and collaborate closely with the executive team to drive financial control, reporting, and strategic decision-making. Your leadership will be essential in managing cash flow and working capital, as well as supporting M&A activities and team development in a high-performance environment.
Responsibilities
- Lead month-end close processes, audits, and group consolidation.
- Manage cash flow forecasting, WIP valuation, and revenue recognition.
- Drive budgeting, forecasting, and performance analysis for decision-making.
- Support financial due diligence and lead integration of acquired businesses.
- Develop and scale the finance team while fostering a high-performance culture.
- Act as a strategic partner to the executive team in financial matters.
Requirements
- Qualified Accountant with significant post-qualification experience.
- Background in legal, professional, or business services.
- Expertise in WIP accounting, revenue recognition, and working capital management.
- Experience in private equity environments and M&A activity is highly desirable.
- Strong leadership skills with a hands-on approach to managing priorities at pace.
