Overview
We are seeking an experienced Financial Controller to support the Finance Director in developing a scalable finance function within a high-growth, investor-backed business in the data centre infrastructure sector. This leadership role will focus on financial control, reporting, governance, and compliance while overseeing finance transformation initiatives. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in enhancing financial processes and supporting the business's continued growth trajectory.
Responsibilities
- Lead month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close processes.
- Oversee management accounts, statutory reporting, and financial reporting outputs.
- Ensure the integrity and accuracy of financial records and accounting processes.
- Design and enhance financial controls, governance frameworks, and policies.
- Support cashflow forecasting, liquidity management, and working capital performance.
- Manage external audit processes and maintain relationships with advisers.
- Drive finance systems optimisation and reporting enhancement initiatives.
- Lead and develop finance team members, fostering a culture of continuous improvement.
Requirements
- Fully qualified accountant (ACA preferred, ACCA or CIMA considered).
- Significant experience as a Financial Controller, Head of Finance, or Senior Finance Manager.
- Strong background in technical accounting, financial reporting, and controls.
- Proven experience in a growing or investor-backed environment.
- Track record of improving controls, governance, and reporting processes.
- Strong stakeholder management and business partnering skills.
- Ability to operate strategically while maintaining a hands-on approach.
- Experience in leading and developing finance teams.
