Overview
We are seeking an experienced Financial Controller for a 5-month contract to support the senior finance leadership team during a period of growth, transformation, and acquisitions. This hands-on role involves managing financial reporting, controls, and process improvements while providing strategic insights and commercial support across the organization. The successful candidate will work closely with finance team members and stakeholders to ensure operational efficiency within the finance function.
Responsibilities
- Lead the monthly management accounts process across multiple legal entities.
- Manage and deliver an accurate and timely month-end close.
- Produce high-quality management reporting, including budget variance analysis and financial insights.
- Monitor cash flow and identify opportunities to improve working capital.
- Support year-end audit activities and act as a key contact for external auditors.
- Assist with financial due diligence and finance support for acquisitions.
- Help optimise finance systems and processes, identifying opportunities for improvement.
- Strengthen financial controls and ensure compliance with accounting standards.
Requirements
- Qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA or CIMA).
- Previous experience as a Financial Controller or similar leadership role.
- Strong management accounting and financial reporting experience.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
- High attention to detail and accuracy.
- Comfortable working at both a strategic and operational level.
- Experience in fast-paced environments.
- Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.
