Overview
We are seeking a Contract FPGA Engineer to join a collaborative team focused on delivering cutting-edge solutions for secure communications and defense applications. The role requires developing FPGA firmware and involves working through the entire project lifecycle, from concept to prototype, during a crucial period of project advancement. Ideal candidates will have a strong engineering background and a passion for innovative technology.
Responsibilities
- Develop FPGA firmware solutions using VHDL/Verilog and tools such as Vivado and Quartus.
- Collaborate with engineers and scientists to design prototypes for complex technical challenges.
- Deliver FPGA solutions from initial concept to final prototype.
- Conduct system modelling and development in MATLAB/Simulink as needed.
- Engage in embedded software development using C/C++ and Linux environments.
- Participate in Agile methodologies to streamline project workflows.
- Address specific challenges within electronics, SDR, radar, or communications applications when required.
Requirements
- Proven experience in FPGA firmware development with VHDL/Verilog.
- Familiarity with Vivado and Quartus for FPGA design tools.
- Relevant degree in engineering, computer science, or a related discipline.
- Experience in DSP/system modelling, preferably using MATLAB/Simulink.
- Knowledge of embedded software development practices and environments.
- Strong understanding of electronics, software-defined radios (SDRs), and radar communications is advantageous.
- Demonstrated ability to work independently and collaboratively in a technical environment.
- SC Clearance is required; DV clearance is highly advantageous.
