Overview
The Fractional Head of Finance will play a crucial role in establishing financial processes and strategic planning for a new Film & TV start-up. Working closely with senior leadership, the contractor will manage day-to-day financial operations while also developing future financial strategies as the company grows. This role is ideal for a detail-oriented professional with experience in both operational delivery and strategic financial oversight in a dynamic environment.
Responsibilities
- Prepare and oversee monthly management accounts and financial analyses.
- Lead budgeting and forecasting processes, including variance analysis.
- Monitor and manage cash flow forecasting and overall financial performance.
- Partner with leadership on commercial planning and pricing strategy.
- Maintain financial controls and ensure compliance with statutory requirements.
- Oversee accounts payable and receivable processes to ensure smooth operations.
- Manage payroll processes, initially via a third-party provider.
- Support board reporting and provide financial insights to senior stakeholders.
Requirements
- Fully qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, or CIMA).
- Experience as a Financial Controller, Head of Finance, or Finance Director.
- Proven management reporting, forecasting, and commercial finance experience.
- Strong technical accounting knowledge and financial systems experience.
- Advanced proficiency in Excel and financial modeling.
- Experience working in a fast-paced and evolving environment.
- Experience within the Media business is preferred.
