Overview
We are seeking a Frontend Engineer with expertise in React, Next.js, and TypeScript to develop high-quality, accessible customer-facing interfaces for a large regulated organization in the UK. The role involves close collaboration with design teams to ensure a focus on web accessibility and usability, as well as leveraging AI-assisted development tools in the workflow. This position is offered as a 3 to 6-month contract, with the possibility of extension, in a hybrid working arrangement with some on-site presence in London, Bristol, or Edinburgh.
Responsibilities
- Develop accessible and high-quality interfaces using React, Next.js, and TypeScript.
- Collaborate with design teams to ensure attention to detail and user experience.
- Ship applications through Vercel and manage content using Contentful.
- Maintain high standards for web accessibility across all developments.
- Utilize AI-assisted development tools, such as GitHub Copilot, effectively in daily tasks.
- Ensure optimal performance and usability beyond just feature delivery.
Requirements
- Proven experience with React, Next.js, and TypeScript.
- Familiarity with Vercel and headless CMS, preferably Contentful.
- Strong understanding of web accessibility standards and WCAG guidelines.
- Demonstrated care for application performance and usability.
- Comfortable utilizing AI-assisted development tools in regular workflows.
- Bonus points for experience in building interfaces for users with diverse access needs.
