Overview
The role of Senior Full Stack Engineer involves joining a significant digital programme within the public sector, where the contractor will contribute across application development and cloud infrastructure in a microservices-based environment. The engineer will collaborate with technical teams and stakeholders, taking ownership of frontend, backend, and DevOps tasks while building reliable digital services using technologies such as Node.js, TypeScript, and AWS.
Responsibilities
- Design, build and maintain cloud-native applications and microservices.
- Develop backend services using TypeScript, Node.js, Fastify, and Java Spring Boot.
- Contribute to frontend development and integration activities.
- Build and optimise PostgreSQL databases and data integrations.
- Deploy and support services across AWS ECS and EKS environments.
- Develop infrastructure and delivery pipelines using Terraform and GitLab CI/CD.
Requirements
- Strong commercial experience with TypeScript, Node.js, and Fastify.
- Hands-on Java and Spring Boot development experience.
- Good knowledge of PostgreSQL.
- Experience deploying containerised services using AWS ECS and/or EKS.
- Strong Terraform and GitLab CI/CD skills.
- Experience working with cloud-native architectures and microservices.
- Ability to operate effectively across frontend, backend, and infrastructure disciplines.
- Previous delivery experience within government or the wider public sector.
