Overview
We are seeking a Full Stack Engineer to develop customer-facing services for a high-traffic environment within a large regulated UK organization. The role involves working with Java and Spring Boot on the backend and React, Next.js, and TypeScript on the frontend, while utilizing event-driven services with Kafka. The contractor will collaborate closely with various teams to build robust applications that meet the needs of real users without compromising on quality.
Responsibilities
- Build backend services using Java and Spring Boot.
- Develop responsive front-end applications with React and Next.js.
- Design and implement event-driven architectures utilizing Kafka.
- Work with PostgreSQL for database management and query handling.
- Deploy applications in a containerized environment on OpenShift.
- Utilize AI-assisted development tools, such as GitHub Copilot, in daily tasks.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure software quality and performance.
Requirements
- Strong experience with Java and Spring Boot.
- Solid knowledge of React, Next.js, and TypeScript.
- Familiarity with event-driven architectures and Kafka.
- Experience working with PostgreSQL, REST, and GraphQL.
- Comfortable with containerized deployment practices.
- Exposure to AI-assisted development tools is a plus.
- Experience in financial services is desirable.
