Overview
The role of a Contract Full Stack Software Engineer focuses on delivering high-quality, scalable web applications for a dynamic travel technology company. The contractor will collaborate closely with Product, Design, and Engineering teams to enhance customer-facing products, ensuring robust performance and user satisfaction. This is a hands-on position involving both new development and improvements to existing systems in an agile environment.
Responsibilities
- Build scalable web applications using JavaScript and TypeScript.
- Develop responsive front ends with React.
- Create backend services and REST APIs using Node.js.
- Write clean, maintainable, and well-tested code.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver new features.
- Contribute to architecture discussions and technical improvements.
- Improve application performance, scalability, and reliability.
Requirements
- Strong commercial experience as a Full Stack Software Engineer.
- Excellent JavaScript/TypeScript knowledge across both frontend and backend development.
- Experience working within agile delivery teams.
- Proactive approach with the ability to hit the ground running.
- Strong communication skills and confidence in stakeholder interaction.
- Experience with React, Node.js, and REST APIs; SQL and/or NoSQL databases are preferred.
- Familiarity with AWS or another major cloud platform is beneficial.
