Overview
We are seeking a Functional Senior Test Analyst with expertise in the payments industry to join a regulated financial services environment. The contractor will play a key role in supporting a major program of work, collaborating closely with Product Owners, Business Analysts, and other stakeholders to ensure the successful delivery of testing outcomes. This position requires an immediate start and involves on-site work three days a week, providing the opportunity to contribute significantly to the delivery team from day one.
Responsibilities
- Design and develop functional test scenarios and test scripts aligned to business requirements.
- Collaborate with stakeholders to define and validate test coverage.
- Create and maintain manual test scripts within Jira and Zephyr.
- Identify, prepare, and document test data requirements.
- Perform quality assurance checks against acceptance criteria and Definition of Done.
- Produce status reporting, risk assessments, and progress updates.
- Support programme delivery through effective stakeholder engagement.
Requirements
- Demonstrable experience in functional testing within financial services.
- Strong knowledge of payment systems and schemes, including Faster Payments, BACS, CHAPS, and SEPA.
- Proven experience in creating and executing manual test scenarios and scripts.
- Strong understanding of the Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC) and Agile methodologies.
- Experience using Jira and Zephyr.
- Ability to manage testing deliverables to agreed timelines.
- Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills.
