Overview

The Head of Data Management will play a vital role within the Technology leadership team, leading and managing multiple data teams to enhance data governance and community support. Reporting to the CTO, this contractor will oversee the transformation of data platforms, ensuring operational leadership and successfully managing change initiatives in data management. This position is critical for advancing the organization's capabilities and preparing for future AI integration.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage cross-functional teams to drive data value in a complex organizational environment.
  • Develop and implement data governance frameworks and quality assurance processes.
  • Oversee the transformation of legacy data platforms to modern solutions, including Salesforce.
  • Ensure operational excellence for data platforms and analytics services.
  • Scope additional data platforms and support research initiatives related to data ambitions.
  • Facilitate the maturity of data management practices within the organization.
  • Build and nurture relationships with key stakeholders, providing technical support as needed.
  • Communicate complex data concepts effectively to diverse audiences.

Requirements

  • Proven experience building and leading cross-functional teams in large organizations.
  • Strong understanding of data management principles and data engineering practices.
  • Experience with full-lifecycle data landscapes, including data warehouses and lakehouses such as Snowflake.
  • Demonstrated ability to create and embed new systems for improved decision-making.
  • Familiarity with cloud-based and on-premise system architectures.
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
  • Ability to foster an inclusive environment and develop data competencies among team members.
  • Experience in negotiating and managing relationships externally and internally.
