The Head of Digital Platforms will serve as the senior technology leader for a newly acquired e-commerce brand within a high-growth industrial retailer. This contractor will leverage their extensive e-commerce background to take ownership of the digital platform, evaluate its technical landscape, and lead a growing team to drive the digital strategy for the wider group. Responsibilities

  • Take ownership of the acquired e-commerce platform and its strategic direction.
  • Evaluate the technical landscape and identify opportunities for optimization and scaling.
  • Lead a team focused on digital, technology, and product initiatives.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to ensure alignment between technical and business priorities.
  • Develop and implement reporting frameworks to create meaningful business insights.
  • Manage integrations with CRM, ERP, payment, and marketplace systems.
  • Shape the future digital strategy for the organization.

Requirements

  • Strong technical background with experience in building, launching, or scaling e-commerce platforms.
  • Proven understanding of digital architecture, integrations, and platform ecosystems.
  • Experience in managing digital or technology teams.
  • Excellent stakeholder management and leadership capabilities.
  • Strong analytical skills with a focus on delivering business insights.
  • Familiarity with platforms such as Shopify, Magento, or WooCommerce.
  • Commercial acumen with the ability to balance technical and business priorities.
  • Experience in a growing SME, scale-up, or multi-site business environment would be advantageous.
