Overview
The role of HFT FX DevOps: Infrastructure Engineer is a hands-on contract position focused on the deployment, operation, and support of a low-latency FX trading platform. The contractor will collaborate closely with the existing engineering team to enhance the infrastructure, ensuring it is production-ready and capable of supporting the evolving needs of a high-frequency trading environment.
Responsibilities
- Complete server/process inventory across all production, cloud/UAT, and interim environments.
- Confirm services for migration to the target physical infrastructure.
- Produce an interim-to-physical infrastructure migration plan.
- Define restart, rollback, and recovery procedures for critical services.
- Document access models and SSH key management across environments.
- Implement basic monitoring and alerting for critical services.
- Create runbooks for various operational challenges.
- Support the transition to an MVP-ready production operating model.
Requirements
- Strong Linux systems administration experience.
- Proficiency in deploying and maintaining production backend systems.
- Experience with deployment automation and rollback processes.
- Skills in managing CI/CD pipelines and Docker/systemd services.
- Familiarity with AWS, including EC2, IAM, SSM, and Secrets Manager.
- Knowledge of SSH key management and access control.
- Experience in monitoring, alerting, and logging systems.
- Ability to document network configurations and troubleshoot related issues.
