Overview

The High-Speed Electronics Engineer will play a crucial role in the design and validation of high-speed digital hardware within a civilian aerospace program. This position involves collaborating with multi-disciplinary teams to implement FPGA solutions on PCBs, focusing on signal integrity and system integration. The engineer will utilize advanced digital hardware skills to ensure reliable performance and will be part of a dynamic working environment, taking place in a hybrid model with both onsite and remote work options.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the design and development of high-speed digital PCBs with advanced FPGAs and interfaces.
  • Perform signal integrity (SI) and power integrity (PI) analysis for advanced hardware solutions.
  • Collaborate with RF engineers and firmware developers to create integrated communication systems.
  • Drive hardware testing, debugging, and validation using high-speed test equipment.
  • Support product lifecycle phases from design to customer testing and trials.
  • Prepare and review technical documentation for compliance with industry standards.
  • Engage with cross-functional teams to optimize system design for performance and manufacturability.

Requirements

  • Experience with FPGA design on platforms such as Xilinx, Intel, or Microsemi.
  • Proven expertise in high-speed SerDes interfaces and related protocols (PCIe, JESD204B/C, Ethernet).
  • Strong PCB schematic capture and layout skills, preferably with Altium Designer.
  • Demonstrated signal and power integrity simulation and analysis skills.
  • Hands-on experience with debugging digital hardware in a lab environment.
  • Proficiency in FPGA development using VHDL/Verilog.
  • Solid understanding of communication protocols (USB, I2C, SPI, RS485, RS232, Ethernet).
  • Degree in Electronic/Electrical Engineering or a related field.
