Overview
We are seeking a Senior HV Project Engineer to lead high voltage transmission and distribution projects from initiation to handover. In this hybrid role, you will collaborate closely with project directors and senior managers, ensuring successful project delivery while managing technical and commercial aspects. Your expertise in National Grid frameworks will be essential for driving project efficiency and maintaining safety standards throughout all phases of the project lifecycle.
Responsibilities
- Lead HV transmission and distribution projects from initiation through to close-out.
- Support project directors in overall project delivery and accountability.
- Manage project planning, design coordination, construction delivery, and commissioning.
- Oversee design teams to ensure deliverables meet customer specifications.
- Control project budgets and monitor expenditure against the plan.
- Conduct safety tours and promote a positive safety culture.
- Manage subcontractors and procurement plans to align with project schedules.
- Prepare internal and external project reports and escalate issues as needed.
Requirements
- Proven experience delivering HV transmission projects on National Grid frameworks.
- HND or Degree in Engineering, Management, or Construction discipline.
- Minimum 8-10 years' experience in complex project delivery environments.
- Strong commercial awareness, including budget management and cost control.
- Excellent leadership skills with experience in team management and development.
- Strong communication skills for engagement with clients and stakeholders.
- Safety-focused mindset with commitment to safe systems of work.
- Current driving licence is required.
