Overview
The HVDC Project Manager role is focused on overseeing the delivery of a significant transmission infrastructure project within the energy sector. The position involves coordinating multiple teams, managing project execution from design through to handover, and ensuring compliance with quality and safety standards. The contractor will work closely with stakeholders, contractors, and suppliers to achieve project objectives efficiently and successfully.
Responsibilities
- Lead the delivery of HVDC transmission infrastructure packages from design through to handover.
- Manage project execution to ensure safe and efficient delivery within budget and schedule.
- Coordinate engineering, construction, and project controls teams for seamless project execution.
- Oversee contractor performance and ensure compliance with contract obligations.
- Drive project governance, reporting, and risk management processes.
- Facilitate stakeholder engagement activities with various internal and external parties.
- Manage project budgets, schedules, and resource requirements throughout the lifecycle.
- Support commissioning and testing activities, ensuring compliance with technical standards.
Requirements
- Proven experience as a Project Manager on major HVDC transmission projects.
- Strong knowledge of HVDC converter stations and cable systems.
- Experience in delivering HVDC projects in offshore wind, interconnectors, or large-scale power infrastructure.
- Understanding of HVDC technology, project interfaces, and engineering challenges.
- Experience managing contracts in EPC, EPCI, NEC, or similar environments.
- Ability to manage multidisciplinary teams and complex project interfaces.
- Degree qualified in Engineering, Construction Management, or a related discipline is preferred.
- Excellent communication and leadership skills with a focus on performance management.
