Overview
We are seeking an experienced IT Operations Engineer contractor to provide essential operational support and stability within a dynamic IT environment. The successful candidate will engage in both hands-on IT support and strategic operational management, ensuring continuity across various remote and onsite users. The role involves improving processes, maintaining documentation, and enhancing device management while collaborating with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
Responsibilities
- Ensure continuity of day-to-day IT support across HQ, Factory, and remote users.
- Document accounts, ownership, processes, and escalation routes to remove key-person dependencies.
- Support the ongoing rollout of NinjaOne/MDM and device enrolment.
- Improve joiner, mover, and leaver IT processes.
- Maintain and enhance the IT asset register.
- Centralise and update critical IT documentation to ensure accessibility.
- Identify operational risks, gaps, and quick wins in IT processes and security.
- Provide a clean handover to the permanent hire once appointed.
Requirements
- Proven hands-on IT operations or management experience.
- Experience supporting both macOS and Windows environments.
- Familiarity with MDM and endpoint management tools; NinjaOne experience is highly desirable.
- Strong background in SaaS administration, particularly with Google Workspace and Slack.
- Good understanding of access control, permissions, groups, and admin roles.
- Experience managing joiner, mover, and leaver processes.
- Strong documentation skills and the ability to work independently.
- Experience in improving IT processes beyond ticket resolution.
