Overview

We are seeking a Principal Instrument Designer contractor for a 12-month engagement, focusing on providing technical design expertise for various instrumentation and control systems. The contractor will collaborate with project teams to ensure accurate designs and modifications to existing equipment, while adhering to safety and compliance standards. Key responsibilities include conducting site surveys, producing essential documentation, and participating in design reviews, contributing to efficient and effective operations in the energy sector.

Responsibilities

  • Provide design input to estimates for project work scopes.
  • Contribute to progress and planning meetings.
  • Specify modifications for DCS, ESD F&G, and metering systems.
  • Conduct site surveys on offshore or onshore assets.
  • Produce calculations and documentation deliverables for design reviews.
  • Ensure compliance with engineering procedures, codes, and standards.
  • Deliver technical support for asset safety cases and performance standards.
  • Approve dispensations to codes or standards when justified.

Requirements

  • Demonstrated experience in instrument design within the energy sector.
  • Proficiency in DCS, ESD F&G, and field instrumentation systems.
  • In-depth knowledge of industry and international standards for instrumentation.
  • Ability to conduct site surveys and produce technical design documentation.
  • Experience in managing technical queries and changes in designs.
  • Understanding of health, safety, and environmental policies and procedures.
  • Familiarity with block diagrams, cause & effect diagrams, and loop diagrams.
  • Competence in industrial networking and communications relevant to instrumentation.
