Overview

We are seeking a hands-on Interim Expense Analyst to join a lean finance function at a high-growth challenger bank for an initial six-month contract. This role involves partnering with the Head of FP&A to enhance visibility and control over expenses while providing insightful analysis and clear financial reporting. The successful candidate will work remotely and be pivotal in delivering accurate expense reporting and recommendations effectively to senior stakeholders.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with the Head of FP&A to deliver accurate and insightful expense reporting and analysis.
  • Build and maintain detailed expense models and forecasts in Excel.
  • Produce clear, visual dashboards, graphs, and decks in PowerPoint for senior stakeholders.
  • Ensure data integrity and transparency in expense reporting through cross-functional collaboration.
  • Identify cost drivers and provide actionable insights to drive efficiency and control.
  • Support ad-hoc analysis and presentation requirements in a fast-paced environment.

Requirements

  • 5–8 years of experience in expense or financial analysis, preferably within financial services or banking.
  • Strong analytical and Excel modelling skills with the ability to derive meaningful insights from data.
  • Proficient in creating and presenting materials in PowerPoint and Excel to a high standard.
  • Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills to engage effectively with senior leaders.
  • Ability to work autonomously in a small, dynamic team and manage priorities independently.
  • Must be immediately available.
