Overview
We are seeking an accomplished Interim Finance Director to support two mid-sized service-led businesses within a fast-evolving organization in the professional services sector. This role involves close collaboration with the leadership teams and direct reporting to the Group CFO, providing strategic guidance during a significant operational and financial transformation phase. The ideal candidate will bring extensive experience in managing complex financial operations and leading teams through periods of change.
Responsibilities
- Partner with senior leadership to align financial strategy with business goals and transformation plans.
- Lead a full diagnostic review of financial operations, reporting, controls, compliance, and organisational structure.
- Design and implement enhanced processes, financial systems, governance, and reporting frameworks.
- Support and challenge leadership teams on budgeting, forecasting, and long-term financial planning.
- Identify inefficiencies, operational risks, and opportunities to strengthen performance and profitability.
- Establish clear financial reporting frameworks and KPIs that align with Group standards.
- Provide hands-on leadership, mentoring, and capability-building within finance teams.
- Ensure compliance with accounting, regulatory, and professional standards.
Requirements
- Proven experience as an Interim Finance Director, CFO, or senior finance transformation leader.
- Background in a professional services environment such as consultancy, accountancy, corporate services, or financial services.
- Experience managing complex revenue models including retainers, utilisation-based billing, or project-based accounting.
- Strong expertise in financial systems, controls, reporting frameworks, and process improvement.
- Ability to work autonomously in a fast-paced, change-driven environment.
- Excellent communication, influencing, and stakeholder management skills.
- Demonstrable track record delivering work outside IR35.
