Overview
The Interim Finance Operations Director will undertake a crucial leadership role within a PE-backed manufacturing business, acting as the primary finance lead in the UK. Partnering with the Group CFO and the new UK Managing Director, this position will focus on stabilizing the finance function while driving performance across multiple sites. The successful contractor will bring extensive experience in commercial finance leadership, particularly within a manufacturing context, to guide the business through a period of transition and change.
Responsibilities
- Act as the primary finance lead for operations in the UK, excluding group reporting, tax, and treasury.
- Collaborate closely with the UK Managing Director to enhance financial performance and support strategic decision-making.
- Provide leadership across a multi-site manufacturing environment, ensuring continuity in business-as-usual finance operations.
- Coordinate regional financial planning and analysis (FP&A) activities while aligning with group standards.
- Oversee the budgeting and forecasting processes, engaging cross-functional teams to deliver timely output.
- Drive initiatives for cost control, margin improvement, and operational efficiency.
- Lead financial modeling, scenario analysis, and develop reporting tools to provide insightful performance metrics.
- Establish cost-controlling frameworks and ensure integrity of financial outputs in collaboration with Group Accounting.
Requirements
- Proven experience as an Operations Finance Director, Divisional Finance Director, or in a senior FP&A/commercial finance interim role.
- Strong background in multi-site manufacturing environments, particularly in sectors such as food, pharmaceuticals, consumer products, or healthcare.
- Demonstrated ability to deliver cost control, margin enhancement, and improve operational performance.
- Comfortable navigating ambiguous, under-structured, or rapidly changing environments.
- Hands-on and pragmatic approach to finance leadership, with a focus on delivering results.
- Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills, capable of influencing at all levels.
