Overview
The Interim Financial Controller will assume leadership of the finance function in a high-growth technology business during a critical scaling phase. Working closely with senior leadership, this role requires a hands-on qualified accountant with experience in start-up or scale-up environments, capable of establishing robust financial controls and delivering accurate financial reporting.
Responsibilities
- Own the month-end and year-end close cycles, ensuring accuracy and timeliness of reporting.
- Assess, design, and embed a financial controls framework suitable for a scaling technology business.
- Lead audit delivery and oversee the preparation of statutory accounts.
- Produce clear management reporting and financial commentary for senior leadership.
- Support budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning activities.
- Manage and develop a small finance team, implementing best practices across the function.
Requirements
- Fully qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent).
- Proven experience as a Financial Controller in a start-up or scale-up environment, with a track record in managing high performing teams.
- Strong background in technical accounting and controls, with evidence of building financial infrastructure.
- Experience in leading audit and statutory reporting independently.
- Hands-on, self-sufficient with excellent stakeholder communication skills.
