Overview
We are seeking an experienced Interim Head of Procurement to oversee selected indirect spend categories, with a primary focus on the management and optimization of packaging spend for a leading FMCG manufacturer. The successful candidate will work closely with packaging suppliers and key stakeholders to drive cost improvements and ensure continuity of supply. This initial 3-month contract is positioned outside IR35 and may be extended based on performance and business needs.
Responsibilities
- Manage strategic packaging suppliers and key stakeholder relationships.
- Lead sourcing and procurement activities across packaging and indirect spend categories.
- Deliver value improvement and cost reduction initiatives related to packaging spend.
- Support the development of packaging procurement strategy and supplier performance management.
- Ensure continuity of packaging supply within a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
- Identify opportunities to improve packaging costs, service levels, and supplier performance.
- Manage commercial negotiations and contract discussions.
Requirements
- Proven experience as a Procurement Manager within an FMCG manufacturing environment.
- Strong background in managing packaging procurement, suppliers, and spend.
- Experience sourcing a variety of FMCG packaging materials.
- Strong commercial, negotiation, and stakeholder management skills.
- Ability to deliver results quickly in an interim role.
- Immediate availability to start is preferred.
- Essential FMCG packaging experience with a deep understanding of packaging supply markets.
