Overview
The Interim Senior Manager for Fraud & Financial Crime will play a pivotal role in developing and implementing the first line of defense strategy for fraud and financial crime at a consumer lending organization. This hands-on position requires expertise in analytics to enhance operational controls, collaborate with compliance leaders, and respond to evolving threats in the financial landscape. The successful candidate will be instrumental in balancing effective risk management with the organization’s commercial objectives.
Responsibilities
- Own and deliver the first line fraud and financial crime strategy across card and loan portfolios.
- Conduct hands-on analytics, including data extraction and generating actionable recommendations.
- Investigate complex fraud and financial crime issues to improve operational controls.
- Communicate the evolving threat landscape and the firm's strategic responses to the wider business.
Requirements
- Extensive experience in fraud and financial crime within UK consumer lending or financial services.
- Strong analytical skills, including proficiency in SQL and familiarity with R or Python.
- In-depth understanding of AI's impact on fraud detection and financial crime prevention.
- Solid understanding of UK regulations pertaining to fraud and financial crime, with the ability to implement practical solutions.
- Experience operating at a senior management level under the Senior Managers and Certification Regime (SM&CR).
