Overview
The IT Delivery Architect will play a pivotal role in driving the design and implementation of large-scale IT infrastructure projects within Hampshire County Council. This position requires collaboration with various stakeholders, including Business Analysts and department colleagues, to establish effective and scalable architecture solutions. The architect will serve as a trusted advisor and provide expert guidance on technical issues while ensuring alignment with industry standards and best practices.
Responsibilities
- Lead and define infrastructure solutions for complex IT projects and operational developments.
- Provide technical advice and guidance to colleagues across the organization.
- Design scalable, secure, and efficient IT infrastructure architectures.
- Assess and communicate the risks associated with architectural decisions.
- Collaborate with Business Partners and Project Managers to create business cases and tender documentation.
- Conduct technical Quality Assurance (QA) and peer reviews of infrastructure designs.
- Support 3rd level teams on complex technical issues across IT areas.
Requirements
- Degree or formal industry qualifications in IT or significant experience in a complex IT environment.
- Proven experience in enterprise-grade IT infrastructure and solution design.
- Strong hybrid cloud infrastructure experience.
- Ability to act as a Subject Matter Expert (SME) across various proposals.
- Strong communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Experience in planning, estimation, and cost modeling for IT projects.
- Familiarity with industry best practices and compliance requirements.
