Overview
We are seeking experienced IT Project Managers and a Senior IT Project Manager to lead a major infrastructure mobilization programme for a large government department. The roles involve extensive collaboration with cross-functional teams and external suppliers to ensure timely deliveries aligned with fixed go-live dates. Successful candidates will execute detailed project plans, manage project frameworks, and guide junior project staff, contributing significantly to the project's success in a remote work environment except for initial onboarding in South London.
Responsibilities
- Own the execution of detailed IT project plans, ensuring deliverables meet timelines.
- Conduct daily standups and sprint ceremonies to track progress and address issues.
- Manage Jira KANBAN boards and maintain the RAID log for project transparency.
- Act as the main point of contact for supplier mobilization teams to ensure alignment on critical paths.
- Directly supervise a Project Coordinator to support project delivery efforts.
- Oversee multiple interrelated workstreams while maintaining quality control assessments.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure alignment across all project phases.
- Manage project budgets and report on progress using data analytics tools.
Requirements
- Essential practitioner-level PM certification (PRINCE2, APM, or PMI).
- Proven experience in managing complex, multi-workstream IT projects in a fast-paced environment.
- Advanced skills using Smartsheet or MS Project for project planning and tracking.
- Proficient in MS Excel, with understanding of macros and pivot tables.
- Strong vendor and stakeholder management experience in a public sector context.
- Ability to blend Agile and Waterfall methodologies effectively in project execution.
- Experience leading and developing junior project staff or coordinators is preferred.
- Eligibility for BPSS and Counter-Terrorist Check (CTC) clearance.
