Overview
The IT Security Operations Engineer will play a vital role in a leading construction engineering business, focusing on ensuring effective collaboration between the Information Security and IT Operations teams during a period of significant organizational change. This role is ideal for an experienced security professional who wants to contribute to the enhancement of the company's security posture through the implementation of technical controls and active monitoring of security solutions.
Responsibilities
- Provide expertise on application, network, and infrastructure security.
- Monitor security solutions including SIEM, threat detection, and endpoint protection for alerts.
- Document technical standards to align with corporate security policies and industry best practices.
- Perform security reviews, identify gaps in security architecture, and implement appropriate remediation measures.
- Ensure compliance with regulations and conduct vulnerability scanning, analysis, and remediation.
- Manage patching across systems and identify root causes of security issues to design effective solutions.
Requirements
- Prior experience in the security industry with strong knowledge of M365 infrastructure.
- Experience working with SIEM tools and email security solutions (e.g., Sophos, O365).
- Proficient in patch management using Intune, SCCM, MECM Endpoint Manager, and WSUS.
- Familiarity with vulnerability scanning and management tools such as Insight VM.
- Knowledge of endpoint security and cloud technologies (e.g., AWS, Azure).
- Strong networking skills including TCP/IP, SMB, DNS, and DHCP.
