Overview
We are seeking a Staff Full-Stack Engineer to take technical ownership across backend and frontend development, contributing to high-quality, scalable solutions while setting engineering standards for the team. In this role, you will engage in hands-on delivery, technical leadership, and collaboration with product and platform teams, working with modern backend services in Kotlin and rich frontend applications using React and Next.js with TypeScript. This position is an initial six-month contract requiring onsite work three days a week.
Responsibilities
- Lead the design and development of full-stack solutions with a focus on user experience and backend scalability.
- Build and maintain backend services using Kotlin, adhering to clean architecture principles.
- Develop modern, performant frontends utilizing React, Next.js, and TypeScript.
- Manage API design, integration, and lifecycle with Apigee.
- Design and operate cloud-native solutions on Azure or AWS, including containerized workloads.
- Champion observability practices to ensure reliability and troubleshoot ease.
- Set technical direction, standards, and best practices across the engineering team.
- Mentor and support fellow engineers through code reviews and technical guidance.
Requirements
- Proven experience in a Lead or Senior Full-Stack Engineering role.
- Strong backend development experience with Kotlin.
- Solid frontend expertise with React, Next.js, and TypeScript.
- Experience building and operating cloud-based systems on Azure or AWS.
- Hands-on experience with containerization technologies such as Docker or Kubernetes.
- Strong experience with API management, ideally using Apigee.
- Deep understanding of observability principles, including logging, metrics, and alerting.
- Experience designing and maintaining scalable, production-grade systems.
