Overview
The Java Payments Integration Specialist will join a collaborative engineering team focused on delivering enterprise-grade payment solutions. This fully remote position is ideal for professionals with a strong background in Java development and payment integration, who are excited about working on cutting-edge payment infrastructure and overcoming complex integration challenges. The role is set for an initial six-month contract with an immediate start.
Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and enhance Java-based payment integration services.
- Build secure REST APIs and microservices supporting high-volume payment processing.
- Integrate with payment gateways, acquiring banks, and card processors.
- Develop scalable, resilient cloud-native applications.
- Implement secure transaction flows using modern authentication and encryption.
- Troubleshoot payment processing and production issues.
- Collaborate with QA, DevOps, and architecture teams throughout the software lifecycle.
- Produce technical documentation and integration guides.
Requirements
- Strong Java development experience within enterprise applications.
- Commercial experience building payment integrations with payment gateways or processors.
- Proficiency in REST API and Microservices development.
- Experience with Spring Framework / Spring Boot.
- Familiarity with distributed systems and high-volume transaction processing.
- Knowledge of cloud technologies, preferably AWS.
- Experience with Docker and Kubernetes.
- Understanding of PCI DSS and payment security standards.
