Overview
This role is for a Senior Java Developer on a contract basis, focused on developing a large-scale platform for the public sector. The contractor will work primarily with Java technologies and collaborate closely with cross-functional teams to deliver robust solutions. They will be based in Solihull with a hybrid work arrangement and occasional travel to Croydon for project meetings or team collaboration.
Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain scalable Java applications using Spring Boot and Microservices.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to design and implement RESTful APIs.
- Utilize AWS services for application deployment and management.
- Implement CI/CD pipelines using Jenkins and Maven for efficient delivery.
- Conduct code reviews and ensure best practices using Git.
- Write unit tests and ensure code quality through JUnit and other testing frameworks.
- Participate in Agile ceremonies to ensure timely delivery of project milestones.
Requirements
- Strong experience with Java 17+, Spring Boot, and Microservices architecture.
- Proficiency in AWS cloud services and infrastructure.
- Solid understanding of Docker and containerization principles.
- Experience with PostgreSQL and database management.
- Familiarity with Jenkins, Maven, and CI/CD processes.
- Ability to work with REST APIs and Microservices communication.
- Desirable skills include Angular, TypeScript, and Spring Cloud knowledge.
