Overview
We are seeking a Senior Java Software Engineer to support a legacy migration project for a tech consultancy. The successful contractor will leverage their expertise in Java and AWS to help transition older systems to modern solutions. This role requires significant collaboration with teams on-site three days a week, contributing to critical project timelines.
Responsibilities
- Lead the migration of legacy Java applications to newer frameworks.
- Develop and implement strategies for integrating AWS services into legacy systems.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless project execution.
- Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues during the migration process.
- Maintain documentation of migration processes and outcomes.
- Provide guidance to junior developers on best practices for legacy migration.
Requirements
- Proven experience in legacy Java application migration.
- Strong knowledge of older Java versions and AWS technologies.
- Ability to work on-site three days a week.
- Experience in a consultancy or project-based environment preferred.
- Availability for immediate start or within one week's notice.
