Overview
This role is for a Senior Java Software Engineer specializing in legacy migration for a growing tech consultancy. The contractor will focus on updating and migrating legacy Java applications to newer versions, with a particular emphasis on AWS technologies. The position requires weekly on-site presence and aims to address urgent project needs within a collaborative team environment.
Responsibilities
- Collaborate with team members to assess and plan legacy system migrations.
- Develop and implement migration strategies for legacy Java applications.
- Optimize application performance and ensure compatibility with modern frameworks.
- Test and validate migrated applications to ensure functionality.
- Provide technical support and guidance during the migration process.
- Document the migration process and create user manuals as necessary.
Requirements
