Overview
We are seeking a hands-on Junior Network Engineer with a focus on cabling and physical infrastructure work. The contractor will work remotely and travel extensively throughout the UK and Europe, contributing to the installation, upgrade, and maintenance of network systems. This role emphasizes practical experience in physical networking tasks, making it suitable for candidates eager to deepen their skills in Cisco switching and routing while ensuring professional presentation and organization of network cabinets.
Responsibilities
- Perform cabling and physical infrastructure installations at various sites.
- Upgrade network switches in production and field environments.
- Organize and maintain network cabinets to ensure professional presentation.
- Collaborate with team members on site to minimize disruption in live environments.
- Travel to different locations across the UK and Europe for on-site work.
- Work independently while representing the company with professionalism.
Requirements
- Hands-on experience with Cisco switching and routing, ideally at the CCNA level.
- Experience in upgrading network switches in field or production environments.
- Proficiency in network cabinet management and structured cabling.
- Willingness to travel extensively, including overnight stays and out-of-hours work.
- Full UK driving license and valid passport.
- Ability to work independently and in a team, while maintaining professionalism.
