Overview
We are seeking a Lead Back-End Software Developer on a contract basis to play a key role in a dynamic engineering function focused on enhancing core platforms and commercial data systems. The successful candidate will provide technical leadership, drive the evolution of backend systems, and mentor junior engineers while working alongside distributed teams across multiple regions. This position offers the opportunity to make a significant impact during a pivotal technical transformation.
Responsibilities
- Lead backend development across complex CMS and core data systems.
- Own architectural decisions and provide technical guidance to unblock teams.
- Enhance NextGen CMS by developing logic-driven functionalities.
- Expand and maintain the Master Data platform supporting various services.
- Mentor engineers and promote engineering best practices within the team.
- Enhance delivery efficiency by improving processes and code quality.
- Take ownership of the HubSpot ecosystem and manage functionality enhancements.
- Collaborate with architecture and engineering teams for system improvements.
Requirements
- Strong experience with Node.js, JavaScript, and TypeScript in complex backend environments.
- Proven ability to design scalable systems and make architectural decisions.
- Experience collaborating with product, delivery, and commercial teams.
- Background in integration-heavy or data-rich environments.
- Demonstrated leadership capabilities with mentoring and standard-setting experience.
- Practical experience with cloud platforms, preferably AWS, and awareness of DevOps principles.
