Overview
As a Lead Cloud Engineer/Architect specializing in AWS and Databricks, you will play a pivotal role in driving a major transformation program for a leading pharmaceutical organization. Your primary focus will be on building a modern data platform while closely collaborating with customer stakeholders to develop a strategic roadmap for future phases of the project. You will provide both technical leadership and hands-on contributions to mentoring engineering teams as you ensure best practices are established and implemented effectively.
Responsibilities
- Lead the technical delivery of a cloud-based data platform on AWS.
- Drive the implementation and adoption of Databricks.
- Design and promote Medallion Architecture best practices.
- Translate AI use cases into scalable, production-ready data products.
- Work closely with customer stakeholders to define strategy and build the case for future project phases.
- Mentor engineers and provide technical leadership throughout delivery.
Requirements
- Strong experience leading data platform or data engineering programmes.
- Deep knowledge of AWS and Databricks.
- Experience designing modern data architectures, including Medallion Architecture.
- Ability to bridge technical and business conversations, particularly around AI use cases.
- Comfortable being hands-on while leading a delivery team.
- Previous experience within pharmaceutical or other highly regulated environments is beneficial.
