Overview
The Lead Electrical Engineer will take ownership of the electrical engineering scope for multiple major water frameworks, driving engineering excellence and coordinating across various project teams. This role requires a seasoned professional with the capability to lead technical delivery, manage teams, and ensure high-quality engineering outputs throughout all phases of design and delivery. The position is contract-based and will focus on supporting UK water infrastructure schemes.
Responsibilities
- Lead delivery of the electrical engineering scope across multiple projects.
- Manage schedules, MDRs, change control, reporting, and technical coordination.
- Delegate and oversee work packages within the electrical team.
- Support estimating activities including CTR development.
- Provide technical leadership across all deliverables, including basis of design and power systems calculations.
- Prepare requisitions for HV/LV equipment and manage supplier quotations.
- Develop installation scopes of work and ensure compliance with relevant standards.
- Provide site-based technical support for operational issues.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical, Electronic, or Control Engineering (or equivalent).
- Chartered or Incorporated Engineer status (or working towards).
- Significant knowledge of UK standards and legislation.
- Experience in regulated environments, including hazardous atmospheres.
- Familiarity with CE marking requirements and HSE risk management principles.
- Proven track record of managing electrical engineering projects in the water industry.
- Strong understanding of technical documentation and compliance requirements.
