Overview
The Lead Electrical Engineer will play a crucial role in delivering engineering solutions within the energy sector, focusing on late-life energy assets. Collaborating with project teams, the contractor will provide technical expertise to support project estimations, design modifications, and the resolution of technical queries. The position requires a strong background in electrical engineering, particularly in high and low voltage systems, to ensure compliance with safety and quality standards.
Responsibilities
- Provide engineering input for project work scopes and estimates.
- Participate in progress and planning meetings, offering technical expertise.
- Specify modifications to existing equipment and support new equipment procurement.
- Conduct site surveys on offshore and onshore assets as required.
- Produce and validate calculations necessary for engineering tasks.
- Review and approve discipline documentation, ensuring interdisciplinary checks.
- Ensure compliance with safety, environmental, and quality policies in all engineering activities.
- Develop key deliverables including power management systems and equipment specifications.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or related field.
- Proven experience in electrical engineering within the Oil and Gas industry.
- Proficiency in high and low voltage switchgear and power generation systems.
- Strong knowledge of electrical protection, control systems, and specifications.
- Experience in conducting technical calculations and participating in design reviews.
- Familiarity with health, safety, environmental, and quality management practices.
- Ability to produce detailed engineering documentation and deliverables.
