Overview
The Lead Electrical Engineer will provide technical leadership and expertise for engineering projects focused on energy asset management. Working collaboratively within project teams, the engineer will facilitate planning and design modifications, ensuring compliance with safety and quality standards in the oil and gas industry. This contract role allows for engagement through limited companies and emphasizes strong problem-solving skills for technical queries and design changes.
Responsibilities
- Provide engineering input to estimates for project work scopes.
- Conduct site surveys on offshore or onshore assets as required.
- Produce required calculations and participate in design reviews.
- Check and approve discipline documents, ensuring compliance with standards.
- Prepare discipline documentation deliverables for inclusion in work packs.
- Review and specify modifications to existing equipment and new equipment purchases.
- Provide technical support to address and resolve technical queries.
- Ensure compliance with health, safety, environmental, and quality policies.
Requirements
- Proven experience as an Electrical Engineer in the oil and gas industry.
- Strong knowledge of HV/LV switchgear, electrical drives, and power generation systems.
- Familiarity with design changes and change control processes.
- Experience in producing technical documentation and specifications.
- Ability to conduct site surveys and produce calculations.
- Understanding of health, safety, environmental, and quality standards.
- Proficient in using relevant engineering software and tools.
- Degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field.
