Overview
We are seeking a Lead Instrument Engineer Contractor for a 12-month engagement, responsible for providing engineering expertise in various aspects of instrumentation for projects involving energy assets. The ideal candidate will deliver technical input for equipment modifications, collaborate in planning and meetings, and ensure compliance with safety and quality standards while producing essential documentation for deliveries. This role emphasizes a commitment to effective operation and management of energy systems.
Responsibilities
- Provide engineering input to project work scope estimates.
- Participate in progress and planning meetings, providing technical expertise.
- Specify modifications to existing equipment and assess new equipment needs.
- Conduct site surveys on offshore or onshore assets as required.
- Produce technical documents including control system philosophies, specifications, and instrument schedules.
- Ensure compliance with company engineering procedures and industry standards.
- Collaborate in the resolution of technical queries and facilitate design reviews.
- Check and approve discipline documents ensuring quality and safety compliance.
Requirements
- Proven experience in instrumentation engineering within energy sectors.
- Familiarity with DCS, ESD F&G, and metering system modifications.
- Experience with field instrumentation including pressure, level, temperature, and flow measurements.
- Ability to produce technical documentation and perform necessary calculations.
- Strong understanding of industry codes, standards, and safety regulations.
- Experience in site surveys and technical support for asset safety cases.
- Knowledge of industrial networking and communication protocols.
- Competence in interdisciplinary document checking and approval processes.
