Overview
We are looking for a Lead Mobile Engineer on a contract basis to oversee the strategy, development, and execution of mobile applications. The individual will collaborate with cross-functional teams, including product and design, to deliver exceptional mobile experiences while leading a talented engineering team and driving technical innovation. This role requires on-site presence in London three days a week and aims at building a high-performing mobile engineering culture.
Responsibilities
- Lead a team of mobile engineers to deliver high-quality applications.
- Propose and implement innovative architectures for new and existing mobile apps.
- Monitor market trends and analyze mobile product behaviors to inform strategy.
- Establish and uphold best practices in coding, security, and performance.
- Oversee the development, deployment, and maintenance of mobile applications.
- Ensure timely delivery of software through agile methodologies.
- Collaborate with backend and web teams for seamless API integration.
- Drive internal initiatives and community engagement around mobile technology.
Requirements
- Proven experience (10+ years) in mobile engineering, with a minimum of 3 years in a leadership role.
- Strong technical expertise in native iOS (Swift) and/or Android (Kotlin) development.
- Experience with additional frameworks like React Native, Flutter is a plus but not required.
- Demonstrated ability to deliver and scale mobile apps with millions of users.
- Deep understanding of mobile architecture and design patterns.
- Excellent communication skills in English and strategic thinking abilities.
- Knowledge of DevOps and CI/CD processes, as well as app store release management.
- Background in mobile analytics and performance tuning is preferred.
