Overview
The Lead Python Developer will play a crucial role in designing and delivering a proof of concept for integrating a modern offsite rating platform with an on-prem IBM Power environment. This contract, lasting 3-6 months and outside IR35 regulations, focuses on demonstrating the interoperability of Python-based services with existing core insurance platforms, ultimately supporting legacy modernization efforts. The developer will work within a collaborative team committed to building a sustainable future and advancing innovative solutions in the financial services sector.
Responsibilities
- Design and implement a lightweight, scalable CI/CD pipeline to support ongoing delivery.
- Build an integration utility to connect external rating services with Power11 / IPlus.
- Deliver a working proof of concept application and supporting services.
- Enable interoperability between legacy and modern platforms through pragmatic integration patterns.
- Produce clear technical documentation and structured handover materials for internal teams.
Requirements
- Demonstrable experience as a Python developer within complex environments.
