The Lead ServiceNow Developer will play a critical role in enhancing and optimizing a ServiceNow platform for a prominent retail business. This position involves hands-on development and technical leadership, focused on improving system performance, usability, and scalability. The contractor will work collaboratively with stakeholders to formulate effective solutions while implementing robust engineering standards and efficient development processes.

Responsibilities

  • Lead hands-on development across ITSM and related modules.
  • Refactor and improve existing workflows, scripts, and integrations.
  • Drive platform optimisation focusing on performance, reliability, and user experience.
  • Partner with stakeholders to translate pain points into clean technical solutions.
  • Introduce better engineering standards, governance, and release discipline.
  • Support a shift from reactive development to structured, scalable delivery.

Requirements

  • Strong experience as a Lead or Senior ServiceNow Developer.
  • Deep knowledge of ITSM (Incident, Change, Problem, Service Catalogue).
  • Proven track record improving existing ServiceNow environments, not just greenfield builds.
  • Strong scripting and development capability (workflows, business rules, integrations).
  • Experience working in SOW / consultancy-style engagements.
