Overview
We are seeking a seasoned Lead Systems Engineer for an 8-month contract role to support a significant engineering programme. Collaborating closely with the Project Chief Engineer, you will ensure the technical integrity of the full system and its subsystems, leading activities in architecture development, integration, and supplier engagement throughout the project lifecycle.
Responsibilities
- Lead architecture development and documentation of system architecture.
- Manage subsystem integration activities across all components.
- Engage with technical suppliers to ensure alignment and delivery.
- Provide direction on technical risks and opportunities throughout the project.
- Support verification and test planning efforts for certification.
- Influence key stakeholders, including customers and end users.
- Act as deputy for the Project Chief Engineer when required.
- Facilitate design reviews, ensuring compliance and corrective actions are implemented.
Requirements
- Proven experience in leading system architecture activities.
- Strong understanding of system lifecycles, baselines, and change control.
- Experience integrating supplier subsystems effectively.
- Ability to influence system-level design and integration decisions.
- Experience managing stakeholders under high-pressure environments.
- Proficiency in supporting design reviews and implementing necessary actions.
- Desirable knowledge of passive/active RF systems.
- Familiarity with systems integration and progressive assurance methodologies.
